Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Nexus 5X to your computer via USB
- Swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
- Open an Explorer window on the computer
- Locate the media files on your computer
- Copy the files, and transfer them on your phone storage (preferably in the “Media” > “Alarms” / “Notifications” / “Audio” directories)
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB connector
Change the Phone’s Ringtone:
- Open the “Settings” menu
- Tap “Sound” under “Device”
- Scroll to “Call Ringtone & Vibrate”, and tap “Phone ringtone”
- Select the ringtone you want to use
- Tap “OK”
- Optionally you can disable or enable “Also vibrate for calls”
Change a Contact’s Ringtone:
NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones for contacts stored on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Contacts”
- Select a contact
- Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
- Tap “Set ringtone” and select the desired ringtone for the contact
- Tap “OK” to save the changes
Change the Notification Sound:
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Sound & notification” under “Device”
- Tap “Default Notification Sound” under “Sound”
- Select a notification sound and press “OK” to confirm
