Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications doesn’t work as intended; it crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the app’s cache and data.

WARNING! Clearing an application’s data will result in the deletion of all your personal information stored within the app, such as profiles, high scores, saved games, settings, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing any personal data, try clearing only the application’s cache.

  1. On the home screen, drag the “Notification” bar down
  2. Tap “Settings” in the upper-right corner of the screen
  3. Tap “General” > “Apps
  4. Swipe left to the “All” tab
  5. Select the desired application
  6. Tap “Clear cache
  7. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “Yes” (Read WARNING above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work properly, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have a similar effect as a factory reset, without losing any of your personal data located on the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings
  3. Tap “General” > “Storage
  4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  5. Tap “Cached data” > “Yes” to clear the cache
  6. Wait for the process to complete and once done, you should no longer see any data under “Cached data” (or a very small amount at least)

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the LG G5 instead.
