Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:

  1. On the home screen, tap “Messaging”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. Under “Advanced settings” tap “More”
  4. Tap “Emergency alerts”
  5. Enable or disable “Imminent severe alerts”, “Imminent extreme alerts” and / or “AMBER alerts”

NOTE: Presidential alerts are turned on by default and cannot be disabled.

Enable Device Lock:

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to and tap “Display”
  4. Tap “Lock screen” > “Select lock screen”
  5. Choose an available lock screen option and follow the on-screen prompts to set it up

Change Device Lock Password:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Display” > “Lock screen”
  3. Tap “Select lock screen” > “Password”
  4. Enter the new password and tap “Continue”
  5. Enter the password again for confirmation and tap “OK”

Change Device Lock PIN:

  1. Drag the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Lock screen” > “Select screen lock”
  4. Tap “PIN”
  5. Enter the new PIN and tap “Continue”
  6. Enter the PIN a second time and tap “OK”

Disable the Lock Screen:

  1. Open “Settings” and tap “Display”
  2. Tap “Lock screen”
  3. Tap “Select screen lock” and tap “None”
  4. If needed, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup and disable the lock screen
