Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your apps doesn’t work as intended, freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache and / or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all personal data stored within the app will be lost, including settings, saved games, profiles, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal data, clear only the app’s cache.

  1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Go to the “General” tab if necessary
  4. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “All
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache
  6. If clearing the app’s cache didn’t solve the problems, you can tap “Clear data” > “Yes” (read WARNING above)

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

  2. From the home screen, press and hold “Power
  3. In the pop-up menu, tap and hold “Power off
  4. When prompted with “Restart in Safe Mode”, tap “OK

  6. To uninstall an application, first go to “Settings
  7. Access the “General” tab
  8. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “Downloaded
  9. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  10. After the app is removed, you can exit Safe Mode by resetting your phone as you normally would

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, or runs out of storage inexplicably and you’re considering factory resetting it, you can try solving these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have similar effects as a factory reset without losing any personal data.

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. If necessary, go to “General
  4. Tap “Storage” and wait for the phone to finish calculating data
  5. To clear the cache, tap “Cached data” > “Yes
  6. Wait for the cache to be deleted. Once done, you should see a considerable lower value under “Cached data” than it was before

NOTE: If clearing the cache didn’t solve the problems, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the phone instead.
