Turn On Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the phones Settings menu
- Go to the General tab if necessary
- Under Phone Management, tap Battery & power saving
- Enable Power saving and then enable or disable the desired Power saving options
- You can also select a battery percentage at which Power saving mode enables automatically
Disable Smart Settings Unused at Home:
- Launch Settings
- From the General tab, scroll to Smart functions
- Tap Smart settings and set the switch to OFF
Adjust Video Quality in Games:
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & Power saving
- Turn off Game optimizer
Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Access the Display tab
- Scroll to Basic Settings
- Tap Brightness
- Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can conserve battery life in the long run.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Access Settings
- Go to the Networks tab and scroll to Connectivity
- Tap Tethering > Mobile Hotspot
- Set the toggle to OFF and return to Settings
- Tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches to OFF
- Go back to General and scroll to Personal
- Tap Location (GPS) > Mode and select Battery saving (networks only)
Temporarily Switch to 2G:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity.
- Open Settings
- Go to the Networks tab, if necessary
- Under Connectivity, tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Disable Background Data:
- Launch Settings
- Access the Networks tab
- Tap Mobile data > Menu
- Turn on Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your accounts / apps to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts & sync
- Turn off "Auto-sync data
- Scroll to Accounts and select an account / app to change its sync settings
Minimizing Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. As such, you might improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps form your phone.
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Apps
- Go to Downloaded
- Tap and hold the desired app
- To turn off the app, tap Disable / Force Stop
- To remove the app, tap Unisntall
