NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up app data, contacts, and media files on the LG X5.

Restore App Data:

  1. Drag the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Tap the “General” tab if necessary
  4. Tap “Backup & reset
  5. Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup
  6. Select the desired backup file and tap “Start
  7. When prompted with “Restored”, tap “Done

NOTE: You may have to need to reboot your phone to complete the restore.

Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset
  4. Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup
  5. Locate and select the SD card backup file you want to restore
  6. Tap “Start
  7. When prompted with “Restored”, tap “Done

NOTE: In order to finish restoring contacts, you may have to restart your device.

Restore Media Files Using Your Phone:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. If necessary, access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset
  4. Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup
  5. Locate and select the media backup files you want to restore
  6. Tap “Start
  7. At the “Restore completed” prompt, tap “Restart

NOTE: If necessary, wait for your device to reboot to complete the restore.

Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the LG X5 to your computer via USB
  2. When prompted, enable “Media sync (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, or enable the option from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups, or the “.sbf” file you want to restore
  5. Copy the media files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) they originate from
  6. After the transfer ends, eject the phone storage via system tray
  7. Once ejected, you can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
