NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up app data, contacts, and media files on the LG X5.
Restore App Data:
- Drag the “Status” bar down on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Tap the “General” tab if necessary
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup”
- Select the desired backup file and tap “Start”
- When prompted with “Restored”, tap “Done”
NOTE: You may have to need to reboot your phone to complete the restore.
Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to the “General” tab
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup”
- Locate and select the SD card backup file you want to restore
- Tap “Start”
- When prompted with “Restored”, tap “Done”
NOTE: In order to finish restoring contacts, you may have to restart your device.
Restore Media Files Using Your Phone:
- Open “Settings”
- If necessary, access the “General” tab
- Tap “Backup & Reset”
- Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup”
- Locate and select the media backup files you want to restore
- Tap “Start”
- At the “Restore completed” prompt, tap “Restart”
NOTE: If necessary, wait for your device to reboot to complete the restore.
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the LG X5 to your computer via USB
- When prompted, enable “Media sync (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, or enable the option from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups, or the “.sbf” file you want to restore
- Copy the media files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) they originate from
- After the transfer ends, eject the phone storage via system tray
- Once ejected, you can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
