NOTE: For instructions on how to back up data on the LG U, you can visit this thread.
Restore Apps:
- Go to “Settings”
- Access the “General” tab
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup”
- Locate and tap the desired backup file
- Tap “Start”
- After the process is complete, tap “Done”. NOTE: you will be asked to reboot your phone
Restore Contacts:
- Go to "Settings"
- From the "General" tab, tap "Backup & reset"
- Tap "Restore from backup" under "LG Backup"
- Select the desired SD card backup file
- Tap "Start" to begin the restore. NOTE: You may have to reboot your phone to complete the process
Restore Media Files From the Phone:
- Launch “Settings”
- From the “General” tab, tap “Backup & reset”
- Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup”
- Select the desired media backup
- Tap “Start”
- Once the process is complete, tap “Restart” and wait for the phone to reboot
Restore Media Files from the Computer:
- Connect the LG U to your PC via USB
- Enable “Media sync (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the desired backup files on the PC storage
- Copy the desired backup files or the “.sbf” backup file you want to restore
- Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) they originate from
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
