WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including downloaded content, apps, ringtones and media files, contacts etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values. However, data stored on the SD and SIM cards will not be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to the “General” tab if necessary
  3. Tap “Backup & reset
  4. Enable or disable “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore
  5. Tap “Backup account
  6. Select or create an existing Google account
  7. When ready, tap “Factory data reset
  8. Optionally, choose whether to “Erase SD Card” too
  9. Tap “Reset phone” > “Next” > “Delete all” > “OK

Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: In case you are unable to reset the phone from the Settings menu as described above, alternatively you can try resetting it from Android Recovery, which can be accessed by performing a button press combination.

  1. First, make sure the phone is powered off
  2. Next, press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
  3. At the “LG logo” quickly release and re-hold “Power
  4. When the “Factory data reset” screen appears, release both buttons
  5. From the menu, press “volume down” to highlight “Yes
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore default settings”, highlight “Yes
  8. Press “Power” to confirm and reset your phone

Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After you factory reset your phone, it’s recommended to check if new software updates are available for download.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to the “General” tab and tap “About phone
  3. Tap “Software info
  4. Verify if a new update is available. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
