Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all the personal information stored within the app will be deleted. This includes login and credit card information, settings, media files, save files, profiles etc. To avoid losing any personal data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Apps” under “Phone management
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  6. If necessary, tap “Storage” > “Clear data” > “OK” (check WARNING above)

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can give results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data stored on the internal memory.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. If necessary, go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Storage” under “Phone Management
  4. Under “Device Storage”, tap “Internal storage
  5. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the cached data
  6. Tap “Cached data” > “Clear” and wait for the process to complete

NOTE: If clearing the cache didn’t help, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Enable Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party app on your phone that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.

  1. While viewing the home screen, press and hold “Power
  2. From the pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
  3. At the “Restart in Safe Mode” prompt, tap “OK” to confirm
  4. Once the phone finishes rebooting, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be shown at the bottom of the home screen
  5. To remove an application, first open “Settings
  6. Switch to the “General” tab if necessary
  7. Tap “Phone Management” > “Apps
  8. Select the desired application and tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
  9. To disable Safe Mode, simply reboot your phone as you would do normally. Press and hold “Power” and tap “Power off and restart
