Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the LG Q8 to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted on the phone or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the desired audio files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folder(s)
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Change the General Ringtone:
- Go to “Settings”
- If necessary, switch to “List view”
- Scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sound” > “Ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.
- Launch the “Essentials” folder
- Open “Contacts”
- Tap the desired contact
- Tap “Edit” > “More” > “Ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
Change Incoming Email Alert Settings:
- Launch “Email”
- Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
- Scroll to “Accounts & Sync”
- Select the desired email account
- Under “Notifications” enable “New Emails” and tap “Notification sound”
- Select the desired notification ringtone and, optionally, enable or disable “Vibrate”
Change Emergency Alert Settings:
- Launch “Messaging”
- Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
- Under “Advanced settings”, tap “More” > “Emergency alerts”
- Under “Receive alerts”, select to disable “Imminent severe alerts”, “Imminent extreme alerts” and/or “AMBER alerts”
- Under “Sound and vibrate”, enable or disable “Alert sound” and “Alert vibration”
