Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal information stored within the app will be deleted. This includes media files and settings, user profiles, save files, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Under “Phone management” tap “Apps
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Storage
  5. Tap “Clear cache
  6. If necessary, tap “Storage” > “Clear data” > “OK” to confirm

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re planning on factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data stored on the phone.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Under “Phone management”, tap “Storage
  4. Access “Internal storage” and wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  5. Tap “Cached data” > “Clear” to confirm

Enable Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third-party app that causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default. To reboot your phone in Safe Mode:

  1. Press and hold “Power” while on the home screen
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
  3. When prompted to “Restart in Safe Mode”, tap “OK
  4. Wait for the phone to reboot. NOTE: Once done, it should display a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the screen
  5. To remove an app, first open “Settings
  6. Then access the “General” tab
  7. Tap “Phone management
  8. Tap “Apps” and select the desired application
  9. Tap “Uninstall “ > ”OK
  10. Once the app has been removed, exit Safe Mode by pressing & holding “Power”, and tapping “Power off and restart
