Clear App Data/Cache:

NOTE: If one of your apps crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s data or cache.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal information stored within the app will be deleted, including save files and settings, user profiles, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Launch “settings
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Apps” under “Phone management
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  6. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: in case your device freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data stored on the device.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Storage” under “Phone Management
  4. Go to “Internal storage
  5. Wait for the device to finish calculating the data
  6. Tap “Cached data” > “Clear” to confirm

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Enable Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third-party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default. To reboot the device in Safe Mode:

  1. Press and hold “power” on the home screen
  2. At the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
  3. At the “Restart in Safe Mode” prompt, tap “OK
  4. Wait for the device to reboot. Once it finishes, it should show a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To remove an app, first open “Settings
  6. Go to the “General” tab
  7. Tap “Phone management” > “Apps
  8. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  9. After the app has been removed, press and hold “Power” and tap “Power off and restart” to reboot the device and exit Safe Mode
