Clear App Data/Cache:

NOTE: In case one of your apps freezes, crashes, doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal information stored within the app will be deleted, including user profiles and settings, save files, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the cache.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Scroll to “Phone management” and tap “Apps
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  5. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check WARNING above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have similar results to a factory reset without losing any personal data on the device.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Scroll to “Phone Management” and tap “Storage
  4. Access “Internal storage
  5. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data and tap “Cached data” > “Clear” to confirm

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device instead.

Enable Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third-party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default. To reboot the phone in Safe Mode:

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
  3. When prompted with “Restart in Safe Mode” tap “OK
  4. Wait for the device to reboot and once done, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To uninstall an app, first go to “Settings
  6. From the “General” tab, scroll to “Phone management” and tap “Apps
  7. Select the desired app
  8. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
  9. Once the app has been removed, reboot your device by pressing and holding “Power” then tapping “Power off and restart
