WARNING! When you reset your phone, all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files, ringtones, apps, contacts etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD storage will not be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Phone Management” > “Backup & reset
  3. Tick or clear the check boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data
  4. Tap “Backup account” and select the account you want to use for the backup
  5. Tap “Factory data reset” and choose whether to “Erase SD card” as well
  6. Tap “Reset phone” and enter the your lock screen password / PIN if necessary
  7. When ready, tap “Delete all” > “Reset

Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it, alternatively you can reset the device from the Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing the following:

  1. First turn the phone OFF
  2. Then, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. At the LG logo, quickly release and re-hold “Power
  4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release all buttons
  5. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes
  6. Press “Power” to confirm the highlighted option
  7. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, highlight “Yes” and press “Power
