Sharing iPhone Contacts via iTunes:
NOTE: You can use iTunes on a computer with Internet access to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data and contacts with the Android phone.
- Open iTunes on the computer
- Connect the iPhone to the computer
- Click the iPhone in iTunes
- Go to “Info” and enable “Sync Contacts With”
- Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account
- Click “Apply” to start the sync
- Once the sync is complete, switch to the Android device and sign in with the same account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with the Android device
Share iPhone Contacts from an iCloud Backup:
NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts are backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in with the account on a computer with Internet access and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.
- Open the Internet browser on the computer
- Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
- Log in with your iCloud account
- Go to “Contacts”
- Select the desired contacts and access “Settings”
- Click “Export vCard”
- Once the vCard is downloaded, perform one of the following steps:
- Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to “Google Contacts” or:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import the vCard to your phonebook via “Contacts”
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: While the methods above require a computer with Internet access, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third-party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS third-party app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone via the App Store
- Launch the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard of your iPhone contacts
- After the process is done, send the vCard to your own address
- Switch to the Android device and open the email
- Download the vCard attachment and import it to your phonebook via “Contacts”
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Another third-party app you can use on Android and iOS is Send Anywhere. The app uses a peer-to-peer connection to share contacts and other file types, cross-platform, without requiring a computer.
- Visit the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Install the app on the Android phone via the Play Store
- Open the app on both phones
- On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
- Select the contacts you want to share
- Tap “Send” and select a transfer method on one of the phones
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
