WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, your personal data stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes ringtones and other media files, downloaded content, apps, contacts etc. and all settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD storage won’t be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Phone Management
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset
  4. Tick or clear the check boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data
  5. Tap “Backup account
  6. Select the desired account then tap “Factory data reset
  7. Optionally you can choose to “Erase SD Card” as well
  8. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password to proceed
  9. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset

Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it using the method above, you can try resetting the device from Android Recovery by following these steps:

  1. First turn the phone off if necessary
  2. Next press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” simultaneously
  3. At the LG screen, release and quickly re-press “Power
  4. At the “Factory data reset” screen release the buttons
  5. Once in Recovery, press “volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore default settings” highlight “Yes
  8. Press “Power” to confirm
