Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: if one of your apps doesn’t work as intended, crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably etc. you can try solving these issues by clearing the app’s cache/data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes user profiles, save files, custom settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “General” and tap “Apps
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  5. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK

Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try solving these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have similar results to a factory reset without losing personal data from the device.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Phone Management
  3. Tap “Storage” > “Internal storage
  4. After the phone finishes calculating the data, tap “Cached data
  5. Tap “Clear

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you can uninstall the app in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “power
  2. In the Power Management menu, tap and hold “Power off
  3. At the “Reboot to Safe Mode” prompt, tap “OK
  4. After the phone reboots, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To remove an app first launch “Settings” then go to “Apps
  6. If necessary, switch to “All apps
  7. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  8. Once the process completes, reboot the phone normally to exit Safe Mode
