WARNING! When you factory reset the device, your personal data on the phone’s storage will be deleted, including media files, contacts, downloads, ringtones etc. In addition, all the settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SD and SIM cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you reset the device, you can visit this thread for back up information, and this thread for a guide on how to restore data.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Launch “Settings” and go to “Phone Management
  2. Tap “Backup & Reset
  3. Tick or clear the “Back up my data” and “Automatic Restore” check boxes
  4. Go to “Backup account” and select the desired account
  5. Tap “Factory data reset” and optionally, choose whether to “Erase SD Card” as well
  6. If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password and tap “Continue” to proceed
  7. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset” to confirm

Factory Reset from Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your device freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesn’t allow you to reset it using the method above, you can try resetting the phone from Android Recovery using hardware buttons.

  1. Turn the phone Off
  2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. Release and quickly press “Power” at the LG screen
  4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release both keys
  5. From the Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore defaults” highlight “Yes” and press “Power
