All of a sudden the menu went crazy, lost my mp3, can't get the menu to switch from reg menu to icons, etc. any ideas???? bamx2 - Sometimes a port can be complete in as little as 2 hours and usually no more than 24 hours. Porting can be done between 9am to 7pm. Don't forget to bring your last bill and a photo ID.

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
Hello. I have the Kyocera E2000. I would like to put ringtones and photos on it. I can't find any website that supports the Kyocera E2000. Which format are the ringtones? Are there any websites for downloads to the phone? Does anybody know if any data cable will work, or does it have to be a specific one? Thank you.

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
I tried MetroPCS in Atlanta for a couple of months. There was too much in the way of wek reception and dropped call (coverage holes) for me . I am currently using Boost Unlimited and have found coverage much better .

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
Hey everyone.
I am currently a MetroPCS subscriber and I have a Blackberry 8800. It is unlocked currently. It is a CDMA phone. Does anyone know the steps I need to get Metro service on this phone. I am not worried about loosing certain blackberry functions, I am just tired of my Moto V3a since it has no MD memory port and has been crippled greatly by the METROPCS gods. Any advice will do!

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
Hello All,
I am new to this whole forum thing.
I have been a dual subscriber to both cingular & tmobile for many years.
Now, I am reassessing how much I really want to pay per month.
I am thinking about metropcs.
I tried earthlink wireless for their 90 day trial and was very unhappy!
However, I was able to retain my Treo 650.
I am not crazy about 90% of the cellphones out there and I have several
pda phones I aquired over the years; I really can't live without them.
I also have several pdas but I like having both together.
My question...
Can I setup my treo on metropcs as they are both cdma phones?

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
I was wondering if it is possible for me to bring in a CDMA phone to metro PCS and have them switch my account to that phone. Will they charge a fee? Does it have to be a phone that was already on metro service?

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
gorilla,
First, keep in mind that most carriers I know of (Sprint, TMobile, Cingular, etc) lock their phones so that they can only be used on their original network. A lot of phones are able to be unlocked, but that will most likely cost you. (Example, I unlocked my TMobile phone a few years ago to use with Cingular and it cost me roughly $30.) Also, this would most likely void any warranty the phone has.
Additionally, I am not certain that Metro would allow you to activate a phone that is not theirs. I checked the FAQ on the web site, and the answer is very vague. They said "The phones available with MetroPCS service were specifically chosen because of their optimal performance on the MetroPCS network." This would lead you to believe they don't support other phones, but I can't say for sure.
Lastly, remember that new Metro phone purchases include first month of service and activation fee. If you were to activate a phone you already had (Metro or otherwise) you'd have to pay these up front. So, in addition to paying to unlock a phone, you'd also be spending roughly another $60-70 just to turn on your service. With their cheapest phone being $99, I'd say it's a much better value and less hassle to purchase a new phone.
Hopefully that helped. If none of the Metro reps reply, I'd recommend visiting a corporate store... trying to call Metro for customer service is practically impossible. Good luck!

Re: MetroPCS Thread!!!
metropcs does offer a promotion called metroflash you can check it out at MetroPCS | MetroFLASH and see if your phone is on the list. I think they charge you around 35 bucks to unlock the phone and that includes the first month free of service.
