Before I even take the drive to my local Verizon store I figured I would ask here first. Right now I have a BlackBerry Storm on the Family plan with my wife (she has a LG Venus). I am looking to get rid of my Storm and get something different. I am not very happy with the BlackBerry service for the money I paid for the phone. My main concern is that I don't have to pay a lot more than what I am now and also I want to make sure I still have my email like I do now. I like the idea that the phone has Google maps for navigation, I will actually use this over the mobile nav that I am using now in my vehicle.
Does Verizon offer a family plan for the Droid with unlimited Data and Email?

I am also curious to see if the Droid has AOL instant messenger like the Storm does where the IM's DON"T count toward your text messages?

Re: Looking to get rid of my BlackBerry Storm for the Droid
What is nice about the storm is that there are applications for almost anything you want to do.... I went from the Storm 1 to the DROID and I couldn't be happier.... The phone requires data, so all IM apps use the data... also the data plan is the same price as the Storm's so you won't be seeing a difference there.
Take a look at AndroLib, Find all applications and games available in the Android Market for your Android Phone, HTC Dream, HTC Magic etc... and look at the apps that are available (not all of them work on the DROID due to android 2.0, but it is a good starting place... also most app developers are currently working to support the DROID)
The main one that came up when I searched for "aim" on my DROID's Market was: "Hi AIM Beta" it says it sends the IM's through the network and not SMS and that they just redesigned the interface.
