RE: ehow.com/how_2051233_change-esn-number.html
I know Sprint has their database of "allowed ESNs" so has anyone looked at changing the ESN on the droid to say, the ESN of another model phone they already have (PRE, Hero, etc.) and calling Sprint to activate "that" phone? I understand there are some issues because the ROM wouldn't work on Sprint - but lets say one gets rooted - and a homebrew ROM built... Has anyone tried this idea with another phone?
(I realize I would either have to deactivate the current phone or buy one with a clean ESN for this to work...)

Re: Change DROID ESN for Sprint?
I know this is an old thread, but I'm looking for info on this topic. If your like me, you want to clone your phone's esn/meid and whatever else so that you can use something like the droid incredible (CDMA) in place of your samsung intercept (also CDMA) with your current virgin mobile plan. It is illegal to clone someone else's esn for fradulent use, but as long as you legally own both phones, you can do whatever you please. i.e. when you buy a book, your allowed to rip a page out if you'd like. So, if anyone knows how to clone an esn from one droid to another, both cdma, I'd love to know.
