I bought an unlocked Motorola RAZR V3 off ebay, it arrived but when I put my Orange sim card in it asked for subsidy password. Because i'm stupid I just tried anything and now it just says 'contact service provider.'

Basically it wasn't unlocked in the first place, and now I dunno how to get it back to asking for a subsidy password
    Anyone know how ?

On another note - the BlueTooth is complete rubbish.
I try using to media center and after loading for ages it wont let me transfer anything because the transfer buttons are shaded out. Does anyone else have this problem?

Any feedback would be appreciated - thanks !

On the SIM issue, I have a SIM from Curacao Telecomm that always asks for a PIN and if I enter it three times incorrectly in a row it locks out the SIM. It (at least in my case) isnot an issue of the phone being locked to a carrier. My unlocked V3 works fine once I enter the PIN associated with the CT SIM. My Cingular SIM has no PIN.

No clue on the BT issue. My BT works fine with my Jabra headset but is less reliable as a connection mecanism to the PC. I just use a cable.

I've got my phone unlocked now (finally).

As for the bluetooth thing, it just wont work, and it doesn't even work with the USB cable, so I'm guessing it's this cruddy media center software

How were you able to unlock your motorola razr? I bought mine at ebay unlock but it broke so i had to send it to motorola. Since they cant repair it they sent me a new one. Unfortunately since I have tmobile, the new phone asked me for a subsidy passeword and now i cant use the phone. Do you know how i can unlock it?

Find a independent cell shop and ask them if they unlock phones. Its pretty common so you shouldnt have a problem finding one. It should be $10-$15
You could definately count the number of V980 users in the US on your hand, and your looking at one

    Equipment:
    Motorola V980 (Unlocked) Vodafone 3G
    Motorola V600 (Unlocked) ATT Wireless

    Companies:
    T-Mobile (USA)
    Idea GSM (Poland)
    O2 (UK and Ireland)
    Orange (Rest of Europe)

He may have locked his simcard.. Take it to a cingular store and see what they say. If push comes to shove, you might have to get a new simcard (about $25).

they should give you a new sim card. I've gotten 2 in the last month.

if the sim is locked you can call them and get the puk code to unlock it.

a sub lock ussually means the phone is locked and it wont accept that sim card. Your only options are to pay to get it unlocked or call cingular if you have them and ask for the unlock code.
