I purchased a V3 Razr on ebay that was supposed to be Cingular but instead was from Portugal. I managed to set it up so that I could use all the features including the web browser. My problem is that the browser on the phone will not format the web pages from cingular properly. While it is usable, it is not pretty. I contact both Motorola and Cingular but they were of no help. They both indicated that my phone is lacking software that is provided by Cingular. Unfortunately, Cingular will not provide me with this software, even though I am a customer and it woudl result in me spending more money using their network. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.
thanks,
Michael

There are 2 ways I can think of, though never tried by me.
Call motorola's toll free number and find an authorized service store where they can install the software.
-or-
Find the software that programs your phone I think it's called "pst phone programmer"...and I have no idea how to use it...
I haven't found much help from tech support, they still can't tell me how to use my phone to connect my laptop to the data network...neither moto nor cingular...

Troy,
Thanks for your response. Do you think this problem may be a hardware issue instead?

Use this link to find motorola service centers.
http://www.motorola.com/GSS/CSG/cgi-.../outletszip.pl
They should be able to help you. If you bought your phone, and do not have a contract with Cingular, call them to cancel, maybe then they will help. Or change to t-mobile and they may help. My phone was cingular, but t-mobile tech support was able to help, send a message to my phone and update some software and they helped change the browser settings to be able to access t-mobile tzones and web browser.

can you post a pic or explain what the pages look like?
do you have an online account with cingular? if you do, there is a device help section when you sign it that will walk you through every single function and setting of your phone. It may help.
Or maybe post your settings, or I can post mine. Let me know if I can help or even pm me. i'll get back to ya after vacation.

Troy,
I have copied the setting to match that on the cingular site but it makes no difference. I have copied the screen of my phone
As you can see it is not formatted properly.
The second file displays what the display should look like.
Thanks,
Michael

I'm at a loss. Either take it up to a service center or maybe post your question on either motomodders.net or howardforums.com
