Hi all,
Before I get ranted on....I did a search before posting. I just got this phone 2 days ago, I don't even know what a MIDI is. I am assuming it is some sort of music file? So, with that said, on to my query>>
I have just purchased the Razr and want to put some cool ringtones on it.
I spent hours the other day searching via Google for sites that have realtone ringers for my phone. I found a lot of sites and I don't mind paying for ringtones if I like them. However, I haven't been able to find ringtones for the stuff I like.
Does anyone know where I can find Dave Chapelle, Super Troopers, Christopher Walkens "Cowbell" skit from SNL, Blazing Saddles, Family Guy, and James Bond Realtones?
Lastly, and most important. How can I make my own rintones out of my movies or CD's? Can I seperate the audio file and clip in into files that I want and then somehow load it onto my phone?
Ok, last thing, are there any upgrades out there for the Razr that I can purchase, like software, memory, better batteries?
Thanks all,
Cameron

Ok, i have another question...are the real tones in .mid format? I am trying to find some realtones and i think my phone uses the .mid filetype for that.
thanks

The way I understand it - Realtones are MP3 samples... I pull things off of Tape and DVD the low-tech way all the time by simply using a cord with 2 "RCA" jacks on one end (right and left out from stereo/VCR/DVD) and an eighth inch stereo jack on the other plugged into the mic jack on the puter... You can use sound recorder, and whatever you use to compress to MP3 - or you can look for some better sound software for the job (I use the creative stuff that came on my Dell and do a lot of editing for media presentations at school)
MIDI is entirely synthesized music - nothing real playing and no voices singing. If you get a good file the sound quality will probably be better - but there're a lot of crappy files out there... try http://board.midibuddy.net and http://www.manythings.org/midi/search.html for MIDI possibilities.
Now if someone who knows the Razr will chime in...

It sucks that Walmart edits everything.
