I dropped my Razr in the toilet (I know I'm an idiot). The bad thing is, not only did it get wet, but I hadn't flushed after a #2. I got it out with a pair of tongs. I cleaned it off the best I could but now it won't turn on. Is there anything I can do?

Yeah it is nasty, but I want to try to save this phone. I don't have insurance on it, and I hate to order another one (this is my second one, first one got stolen). Does anyone have any experience fixing a wet (and beyond) damaged phone?

Problem is that Cingular-Lockline insurance does not insured the Razr.

Your best bet is to remove the battery immediately and NEVER turn it on if it's wet... it's almost a guarantee that the circuitry will destroy the phone. Considering the *ahem* fecal matter involved... you might want to rinse it with bottled water. In my experience with this question on several other cellphone forums I am either mod or admin of... my advice nearly always works in this situation if you follow my instructions. I'm afraid there's not much hope if you turned it on wet already though. You could, however try getting another battery and seeing but dropping a cellphone in liquid will nearly always destroy the battery.

sell it on ebay "as is" after you unlock it and see if anyone bites.

I see this problem posted all the time here and at the other two forums i Moderate... sometimes the phone will turn on again but the display will usually just show a white/blank screen... liquid damage phones will never return to their original 100% state to work properly again especially as severe as yours is.
Also the way the Razr is constructed especially around the speaker area and mouth piece water tends to just flow right into the phone's circuit making it an almost a guaranteed damaged phone.......
good luck with this.

Always worth a shot and any phone can be fixed it's more a question of whether it's worth being fixed. This all depends upon a number of factors and being an engineer I take any problem one step at a time but there is ALWAYS a solution to any given problem. But, as I previously mentioned... your greatest problem is the fact that you turned on your phone. What've you got to lose though? Unless, you're like me and have plenty of money to burn, right?
Nice advice there stbs and tony btw good luck with that.
