what you should do is try and return the phone to the owner...
just call the carrier and give them the IMEI number and they can track who the phone belongs to.

good call Tony - i lost my phone today (stupid bodyglove clip fell apart)
phones are expensive and i wasn't looking forward to having to buy another one - luckily i found it

plus when you go into a cingular store or where ever else trying to claim someone else's phone that could lead them to believe you stole it - not good. Best bet is to call cingular or you could probably even bring it into a local dealer and just drop it off. I'd guess they'll find the owner

Do the right thing and turn it in, like Tony said. Check your local Craigslist, maybe someone is offering a reward for the retreival of it, you'll never know.
