Yes, you are stuck with version .04 and you are stuck with Verizon's Get It Now. You could send ringtones and wallpapers to your phone via Pix messages. Those only cost .25 per item (ringer or background) as opposed to 3.00 per item. My wife got the pink razr and we sent her about 20 ringers and 10 or so wallpapers that way. It works great (not as good as MPT, but she doesn't have any choice).

The only other option would be to flash your phone with version .02 firmware, thereby nullifying your warranty, but it would give you all your functions back.
