They are both the latest versions of each. Each takes a microSD card, and is compatible with 100 songs w/itunes, etc. What I'd like to know is, what are the differences, strengths/weaknesses of each, so I can see which one works better for me.

To start, I'll list what I've come up with (tell me if I'm wrong):

-the SLVR has a 30 sec video limit, the RAZR has none
-the RAZR is 1.2 megapixel, while SLVR is only VGA

    What I'd like to know:
-how does the quality of the video compare? fps? res?
-are the formats of the video the same for both?
-are both hackable for more than the 100 song limit?
-can both use a simple mini-usb to headphone jack adaptor? (I want to use my own headphones)

I am mostly interested in picture quality and video capture ability, as well as listening to music (with headphones). As for flip vs bar phone, I don't really care much, but the SLVR's exposed keypad worries me about accidental outgoing calls or weird noises. I know there is a keylock, but is it easy to use and reliable?

    Thanks.

You can lock the keys by pressing the menu button and then *. You unlock it by doing the same thing again. That doesn't sound too hard to me

Go with the RAZR. I'm not a fan of scratched window surfaces.

Why does the Razr have so many Dam problems?

Re: RAZR v3i vs SLVR l7

I recently changed from silver Razr v3 to Black slvr L7 (international unlocked version)
    Keypad lock works fine.
My razr was the older version, did not have video, so no comment.
I like flip phones, but got the slvr for its mp3 player and micro sd slot. My retailer gave me 512 MP card.
I use a leather case, so no problem of scratching. Yes, it does take away the beautiful looks.
Razr vibration mode was better: longer and louder (more pronounced vibration). SLVR has a short weak vibration.
Keypad is bigger on the razr, makes it easier to dial than the SLVR

I'd go with the RAZR, just for the simple fact that I can't stand scratched window surfaces and leather cases bother me.

Ok, I ended up going with the RAZR. I am glad I did! Although the RAZR and SLVR have the same screen res (I think), the RAZR's screen is much larger. The RAZR's keypad is also much bigger. I still need to get a memory card before I can test the quality of the pictures and video.

the two phones are for different people.

V3i (Razr fans). WIDE and uncomfortable to hold for long...but of course that's what BT is for . Brand new obeymoto (great innovation), and 30fps video capture..WOWIE.

L7 (most sexually stimulative design). Yes It is a work of art. The metal housing gives it a nice weight, and feel. Crappy phone, yes, expandable flash for what? Um...data storage (no need for usb key?), meh., Itunes-blah.

There's NOTHING comparable to slipping our SLVR into a shirt pocket, and taking off for work/play/meeting/evening on the town. The V3i is just not as light & thin to do the same.

    Yours,
