WAIT! I know what your thinking, your going to say read the stickies! I have read the stickies so hear me out!

Ok I went to the sticky how-motorola-v3-everything-you-need-know-then-some (it wont let me post links yet -.-') It gave me a clear place to download Motorola Phone Tools 3. The Download went great and Installation was a success. So Then I tried installing my phone so I could move some pics and a Ringtone to it. The phone was not detected and brought me to a list of where to select a driver for the phone.v3 is not listed in any of the selections. I tried the live update and about halfway through my interent crashes and I must do it all over again not cool. However it still isnt detecting my phone and I'm getting rather frustrated trying to connect the darn thing to move a single .imy onto it! Will phone tools 3 work with a v3 razr? because I'm having the hardest time in the world connecting it.

not much, I'm wondering how to get Motorola Phone tools to recognize not download drivers according to the description of the download it has the drivers. The guide in the stickies mentions nothing of downloading drivers.
And still not able to Live Update do to my internet crashing halfway through the download for no reason what so ever, I've never had this much trouble with my router. I'm about ready to rip it to shreds if it doesnt hold the connection for more than 10 minutes!

Re: Razr Trouble with USB Cable

I downloaded the MPT from the topic that I mentioned in my first post, It isnt recognizing my phone, maybe I didnt make myself clear but thats the problem it isnt detecting it MPT is Motorola Phone Tools Right if it isnt then shoot me in the face...

    Gets stuck here

p2k programming, I'm a programmer maybe I'll understand that after I get the phone connected I just want to stick a pic and a ringtone in..

I started breaking the Live Update down to one file at a time because my internet craps on me before I can finish the entire download

Getting closer the V3 is now listed under Motorola GCM

mobile PhoneTools - 3.25b or so it says I downloaded everything in the LiveUpdate. The drivers are whatever comes with it. Its just per downloaded MPT no added things just whatever the core is, which is why I dont get why its not working because its their own software they should at least test it...

Re: Razr Trouble with USB Cable

Run live update again. You should update till you reach 4.2.1a. Basically till no more updates are available. The updates are applied in sequence, so you may have to repeat the update a number of times before you reach the end.

And for your internet connection issue, try using download manager. you should be able to find this software on cnet or downloads.com or just search google. This will handle the interruptions and will continue to download where it is interrupted.

How very odd the list had 1 download on it when i ran the updater, now it has another! Motorola hired some strange programmers, maybe it will work now.

Re: Razr Trouble with USB Cable

I think the business analyst put in a requirement that the update should update from one ver to the next higher version only, i.e. 1.1 to 1.2 even if 1.8 was available. Dont blame the poor programmers. They only implement what is in the specs.

From your current version, it may take 5 or 6 updates to reach 4.21a. Be patient and let the software do it's thing.
