razr unlock code

i have an unlock code for my v3 through t-mobile and i was wondering if it would work with my girlfriends phone which is also a v3 through t-mobile or if every IMEI number has its own lock code? i dont wanna try it cause i have heard that if you get it wrong too many times it wont work at all. any help would be great.

Every IMEI has it's own subsidy code. It is not possible to use your subsidy code on her phone. Once you are a customer with t mobile for a certain period of time, it is usually not a problem to call and request a subsidy code for that phone.

ok thanks. thats kinda what i figured. thats how i got my unlock code is by contacting t-mobile. but thats for the advice so now i know not to try it.

No problem. How long has she had her phone? I think after llike 90 days, she will be eligible to get a subsidy code from t mobile so she can unlock her phone.

it hasnt been 90 days yet but it will be very soon. but like you said when i had mine for the 90 days they were very good about giving me the code. i did it all over email and it took about 4 days so thats what i will have her do when it comes to that time.

Does anyone know how to get a free unlock code for the tmobile razr? My cousin has a phone from T Mobile but he has not been with them now for a year but his ATT phone just broke and he has no money to buy a new one...Thanks!
