I have a picture (jpg) that I would like to upload to my phone. Using DataPilot software, I can download jpg, gif and video images from the phone, however it won't allow me to upload an image to the phone. I can't even upload an image that I just downloaded from the phone. I want to put a picture with a name in my address book. If you can't upload images to the phone, how are you suppose to include a picture with a name? Can it only be pictures that you take with the phone? Kinda' of a "catch 22" unless I'm missing something.

Pony up .25 to pix message the image to your phone.

I was just curious as to why it didn't work. With my previous phone (LG AX5000) using DataPilot, I could upload and download images to and from the phone. Is the reason that I can't download to the phone due to the phone itself or the carrier (Alltel) or none of the above?

As an example, Verizon Wireless disables the OBEX (object push) feature on all their phones. Without this feature, your phone can not talk with your PC. The only exception (that I know of anyway) are LG phones which can communicate with your PC through BitPim. I can not speak for AllTel, but I assume that they operate with similar intents.

Thanks. I assumed it was Alltel. I contacted DataPilot tech support and they said that image transfers should work both ways. I guess that's true if Alltel didn't disable that feature. I still don't get the logic of why image transfers from the phone are allowed but transfers to the phone are not..... Go figure
