I'm sorry if this question has been answered thousands of times before, but I searched on here and on Google for about an hour and a half before I decided to join.
Ok, I have a RAZR V3. I have it because my beloved Sony Ericsson Z520a recently broke and a friend gave me their old RAZR. Now, maybe the Z520a has spoiled me some by being pretty much 100% customizable right out of the box, but I would really like to use an mp3 file on my new(old) RAZR as the incoming SMS tone. And I can't figure it out. I can only choose from the default tones, and selecting the file from My Stuff-->Sounds doesn't seem to be the right thing to do.
I don't have a manual to read, and just browsing through the phone's settings isn't helping much either. Maybe it's something really obvious, or maybe it can't be done (without modification). I would just like to know how it can be done, if at all.
Thanks!

Re: Custom Text Message Tones - RAZR V3
Ok, I have just found the solution to this problem. I sent the file to my phone with P2K Commander and I had to:
- Put the phone on silent
- Delete MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db
- Power the phone down and turn it back on
That's all, I am simply posting this solution in case anyone else needs help on the same matter.
