I've never had the "g in a box" (the GPRS icon) come on my phone before. My daughter had the phone and I don't know if it is something she did or what. How can I disable it, and I'm wondering if I am being charged while it is showing up?
Or do I have to actually connect to the internet via my phone to incur charges?
I am frustrated and I do not know what the deal is, I have had this phone for months and never had this icon appear, and I never access the internet with it either.
I called Cingular and they offered me no answers so I am resorting to this. PLEASE HELP ME!!
Please email ([email protected] or [email protected]) as I am a newcomer to this board and unsure when I can check the board again.
    Thank you.

Dont worry about it, Cingular may have recently turned on GPRS in your area. As long as you dont download any games, ring tones, or use the web browser on the phone you will incurr no charges. You can also call Cingular and have them remove the data pay per use feature from you account. The G will still be their, but you should not be able to do any data services.
