I have one of those V400 phones for about 2 months now. it's been pretty good. Doesn't drop as many calls. Anyways last night I had about a 3 hour phone call. That is a really long time to be on the phone for me. I plugged it in to charge about 1:30 am this morning when I got home. I awoke around 12:30 to see if I had any missed calls. I had 1 missed call @ 4 am, a co-worker prank calling me. But after that I set it down and noticed I had no signal and no battery. 11 hours of charging, thats not cool. Maybe my mom came in and took 1000 pictures, so I left it plugged in for 5 more hours. I checked it many times during this period for missed calls. I've been expecting a really important call. Anyways, I called the person id been needing to hear from and it said "Call failure: redial?" but not just for this #, for all of them. the battery charger status never moved and I always have all or no connection bars. blah blah blah. When it's plugged into the charger I have next to no power, when it's not, I have full battery and full signal. (But i've read that the battery status thing is glitchy). I read the ghey manual that came with it, I took it to the retards at cingular told me to go to the "corporate office" I don't have time until thursday to go. Im not good at making topics, so i'll make a cliffs notes

    CLIFFS NOTES:
    I have a V400
    Worked good past 2 months
Suddenly after hours of charging battery sucks
    No signal strength
    cant make/get calls
cant go to the cingular office until thursday

If there's anything I can do, please help me.
And as i stated earlier, im not good at making topics, so if I left anything you may need help on, please let me know.

    thanks,
    eric

The bills is paid, I know that much. As for a loose battery charger; there is a slight wiggle from side to side but thats all. i'll try to run it by a more intelligent cingular store tomorrow.

    thank you.

It say's its charging but the meter always stays at 1 bar (occassionally no bars). I was able to call my voice mail at 2 am but disconnected me really fast.
But I was able to go see the friendly folks at my local cingular store. They said my phone is bad. I still have warranty so they'll give me a new one when the owner of the account (my mom) goes in and signs the paperwork. They can save my phonebook but not the ringtones or games... isn't that just perfect?

Got a refurbished V400. So far so good. During the course of the night, somebody hacked my voice mail. "Thank you for calling the Venetian (?) mental institution, no Dr.'s are in right now. If you wish to leave your Dr. a message and know the extension press *. Our moto is "You don't have to be crazy to work here but it sure helps."

At first I was like: WTF?!?! I HATE CINGULAR, then I hit * and it was my account still. When I took it into the store it was back to normal. and the phone worked in the store too. There's probably a tower in the middle of the store that broadcasts a signal for 20ft and solves most problems to confuse people.

I had that same problem with my phone. It charged fine if I turned it off and plugged it in instead of just plugging it in. Once it's charged, just turn it back on.
