Mobile Phone Tools help!!!

I have a motorola v551 with the mobile phone tools. every time i attempt to make a ringtone with it the size is way too big (3 or 4mb for a 20 second clip). I know there has to be a way to edit the size but i cannot figure it out. any help would be much appreciated

Make sure your mp3s are changed from stereo (two channel) to mono (one channel) essentially that means merging both sides. That will help, also edit, edit, edit, if necessary, just keep the barest amount of music needed. Obviously, if they are that large, you are trying to keep too much song.

where can I get mobile phone tools? I already have ringtones but just need to upload them to my phone. Do you know of any programs that will do that? I have a V551

Does Phone Tools work for V551?? Cable, Dongle? Both? I dont know I read somewhere that it didnt work, I want to be able to send tones to my phone and pictures to my computer... can I just get a dongle from ebay or something? thanks, also where can I get the tools? I have to buy that too?!

You can get phonetools for the V551. I started to use it yesterday to transfer pictures back and forth. Neat

What version are you using? I have the 3.0 disk and did the LiveUpdate and I still can't get my phone to initialize with my PC. How did you get yours to work? Thanks for any info/guidance.

Well I started out with Version 2.0, but after doing all the updating, ended up with Version 3.19e1. I had some trouble getting it going, and had to disable a bluetooth driver before i could transfer files. Now I can send things back and forth, and make any song I want into a ringtone. I LOVE THE V551!!
