It's bad but not in a I'm going to jail bad. The only way they can track the phone is though the imei # if you have a problem with the phone don't expect it to be covered under warranty (ha-ha) I don't have a problem with a little crowbar insurance every now and then.

so is there any way that the origional owner of the phone can find me or trach me when i put my sim card in it? the fon was activated when i got it like i could make calls but i took the sim out and tossed it. i just want to make for positive i can use it without the origional owner finding out who i am.

No unless you use his sim and he calls you to ask where you are, but you tossed the sim so you don't have to worry about that the v300 doesn't have a gps locator on it or anything.
