I am not a cellphone expert like the people on this board. I am just a fireman with a cell phone. I need help "unlocking " my Motorola V 265, I am currently subscribed with Verizon. Can I unlock this phone myself so that I can put MY MP3 ringtones on it? (IE: the tones from the T.V. show EMERGENCY) I do not care for the limited selection Get It Now offers, and I have given Verizon more than my share of money. Can anyone help me or steer me in the right direction? Thanks, and have a great holiday season.

    rumer has it

READ SOMETHING IN A CELL PHONE FORUM [GOOGLE'D IT] {WITHIN THE FIRST 50 RESULTS}, YOU SHOULD BE ABILE TO COPY PARTS OF ANY MUSIC OR AUDIO FILES IN A MEDIA PLAYER/COMPOSER THEN ATTACH THEM TO A EMAIL AND SEND IT TO YOUR VERIZON PHONE'S EMAIL ADRESS{ CALL VERIZON FOR MORE INFO}.

ONCE THEY ARE ACSESSIBILE THREW THE PHONE'S EMAIL YOU CAN SAVE THEM AS RINGTONE

    THATS JUST WHAT I HEARD

OH I HAVE THE SAME PHONE

For a fellow Michigander (and a fireman at that) I'll try to help. I'm not sure if you can e-mail your ringtones through verizon, though it would be nice, most service providers filter their mail so they can make you pay for your ringtones and what not through them (something I like to call raping) so if you can find the mp3 that you would like on your phone I'd be happy to help. You may need to have wap access or a cable, pm me once you find the mp3 your looking for.

Thanks for replying. Do you know if I need software to put Mp3 ringtones on it? Do you know what kind and where I can get it?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the help. Please bear with my being a novice. I'll try the E-mail attachment. How do I attach it? Verizon won't let me send Mp3 files? As for uploading the ringtones from my computer via a cable, I wouldn't know where to begin? Girffzan, can you lend a hand?

    Just use this guide: http://cellphoneforums.net/t143496.html

It worked for me, and I have the same phone.

michiganfire, once you get the datacable..you have to install it onto your comp...the cable will either come with drivers, or you'll have to download them. once it is installed and the comp. is recognizing your phone, you have to get a program to send the ringtones from the comp to the phone. i think your phone uses Mobile Phone Tools...or something like that. ill find out what the prog you need is.

--for the mp3 tones...you can get them off grizzfan's site..(click the www under his post.)
