When converting or cutting mp3's you should find a program that will allow you to change some of the features such as hz, kbps, and sound quality (mono, stereo etc). Motorola phone use a setting of 16000hz, 64kbps, and stereo (as for stereo, I'm not sure if it matters but it works for every motorola phone I've done so far) When you get a file from cd it could be in cda format which phones will not play, or even if it is in mp3 my not have the right settings. This is why most ringtones that don't work when transfered from a cable , don't work. Try finding a converter and using the setting my guess is it will fix your problem.
Also try db power amp (freeware) it's what I use.

works like a charm.
what else can i do with phone tools program. it looks pretty cool but im afraid to start messing around with it (my phone).
im especially interested in adding a game or 2 to my phone, bejeweled seems pretty lame, and thats the only one the phone came with. if you have a minute or 2 to explain the game app id appreciate it. and i will also do a search on it. thanks
