I have one, and will give you my opinion on it.

    PROS:

I like what's left of the bluetooth. I have Verizon, and they really crippled it, but with things like the bluetooth earpiece, it works perfect. I also like the memory card it has, even though now with the newest update, it has been crippled a lot also (can't load songclips, wallpapers on the card and use as ringer's/wallpapers on the phone anymore). It has pretty good clarity on the sound aspect of the phone. When the person on the other end talks, there's no static, sounds are clean and crisp, and they say they can hear me fairly well also.

The MP3 player is nice as long as you use a pair of stereo ear plugs/headphones. The battery life is just about what they claim, maybe a bit shorter, but that's to be expected.

I like that I didn't have to train the phone either, that's a very big plus.

    CONS:

I don't like the build, to me it feels flimsy. The cover will flop all over. I put a full leather cover on it, and when I opened the phone to take a picture, the top half kept on trying to close because of the weight of the leather on it. The keys are to close together for my big fingers, I keep pressing the wrong buttons or more than one button.

The pictures are very poor (even though it's a 1 meg+ camera). There's no flash, so any picture in other than ideal conditions aren't going to come out. The inside and outside screen just don't seem to be near as clear as I would expect. (Now this may be due to the fact that my last three phones - LG VX7000, LG VX8000, Audio 9900 - all have had very large screens on them)

I guess that's about it. Please remember, this is just my personal opinion on the phone. I'm sure you'll get people coming on here saying that they love the phone, and disagree with everything I just said, but that's opinions.

    Good luck on choosing!!

    not bad

I like the phone and i dont know why people have problems with it.... Mines works pimp.

first of all i havent updated the software, aand have no need to because everything is functional, i got tons of mp3's and walls on my 256 mb trans flash card and i can set them as ringtones or wallpapers, but to use the wallpapers correctly you just cant upload any size wallpaper to your phone it has to be a cartain size i think its 150 by 150 pixels and your walls will work fine, bluetooth is awesome it works up to 34 feet away from the phone so i can post my phone stationary in my house and leave my earpeice on and use the earpeice anywhere in my house, also the camera works pimp in daylight but in low light levels you might aswell forget about using it, because it becomes very grainy, but the zoom workks awesome on it ( if your in the daylight) other than that the only thing i dont like is the slightly smaller buttons, and you cant change the wall on the front. but other than that, it works great! Its worth the money, battery life is a little smaller but nowadays who doesnt have a car charger or wall charger, my opinion youll love the phone , especially when you you can transfer things back and forth using the transflash card from your computer to your phone I LOVE IT, and there are some aftermarket faceplates for this model only thing i wish i had is some different buttons, but o well nothin is absoloutley perfect right??

ok first of all you need to format the transflash card first, then before putting files on the card you have to install the card into your phone and power it on, then the phone will configure the card for use, after you have done these 2 steps you can remove the card from your phone and sync it to your computer and put whatever files you want into the shared directory on the card.
THE REASON i say this is because i had the same problem and i thought i could just put the card in, then sync and transfer it to phone(but you cant do it like this). if you dont do these first 2 steps you can damage your phone or the trans flash, hope this helps ......

If I was you, I'd go to Radio Shack and buy the card reader they have for $19.95. It connects via a USB 2.0 port. Install the software and your set.

Just put your card into the reader and transfer whatever you want onto the card, take it out and put it into your phone and that's it.

YES OF COURSE YOU NEEED A CARD READER! , there is no other way to sync a transflash with a pc! but what i am sayin is < First you need to format the transflash, then BEFORE putting files on the card you need to let the phone configure the card otherwise you risk dmaging the phone or the card there is clear instructions in the user manual of v710 that states you need to do this before you can load files and transfer them......after letting the phone install the necessary files on the card then you can sync with your computer again and load the files. i know this because ive done the troubleshooting end of post.

Exactly what do you mean by "formatting the card"? Not trying to be a smart *** this is just crucial information.

ok formatting a card, means wiping the card/disc clean its the same thing as formatting a hard drive, when you buy a new hard drive or memory card you have to format the hardware, in other words, you prepare the device to be used for reading and writing, ok when you first buy the trans flash, what you have to do is install the software and then sync the card with your computer. now, the next step you have to do after syncing the card is you have to locate the drive/card/device under "my computer' on your pc once youve located the removable media device what you have to do is --right click-- on the removable device icon and a list of actions will pop up on the menu, then find the action called ----format---- click on format and then start the format on the wizard that pops up, and its that simple, once that is done you can insert the card into your phone (DO NOT PUT FILES ON THE CARD YET) and then after the card is in your phone you will now be able to read and write to the card, now you can remove the card and resync it with your computer and then put any files you wish into the shared directory, after that is done remove the card but before you remove the card you have to safely stop the hardware using the icon in the bottom right of your computers taskbar , what this does is makes sure your card is not active while your disconnecting it from your computer, once you have stopped the removable media, remove the card from your computer, insert the card again into your phone with the files on it, and then you should be good to go... but to access your card on your phone you have to know what media your trying to find, for instance if your looking for a wallpaper, (tip. wallpapers have to be in jpeg format for the phone to read it)you look under the pictures icon under the media gallery icon on your phone ,now when your browsing your pictures you have to use the menu button which is the very top middle button on your phone , press the menu button and locate the ----switch storage device option--- and under that option it will ask you which device you want to use the 2 options are 1. TRI-MMC and 2. PHONE , once you see these ,select TRI-MMC , that means your Mobile Media Card or your storage card . after selecting that option you will now see the pictures that were stored on your trans flash card (remember your phone will not see the pictures unless they are the proper size and proper file type (proper size 150 by 150 pixels and in jpeg format) and thats how you use your card. hope this tutorial helps. good luck its really not that difficult...

Doesn't sound too dificult. Thanks for your help man. After formatting...should I power the phone off, then insert trans flash, then power back on everytime I put new info onto the trans flash?

BTW, What do you mean by "sync"? (Second or third sentence)
