Motorola ring tones question

Ok i was on the Moto web site checking out the ring tones, I listened to them and then saved them to my system. Now can i put them ringtones that i saved onto my phone with the software and cable? I am new to this so any help would be appreciated.

I know sprint, verizon and alltel offer this...

you can upload them to your carriers website and email them to your phone. But i recommend the cable and mpt, that's what i have and I use it all the time.
