I understand this software is pretty much my only choice if I want to transfer data from my PC to phone or back my settings up. But I have a few questions about it...

    - Does it really suck? I have heard a lot of bad things about it, basically stating that it is buggy software and does not always work correctly.

    - Does it install any other crap with it? IE: spyware, something that runs at startup or in the background all the time.

    - Any general opinions or observations on it? Has it worked fine for you? Thanks.

works fine for me. it does nothing but ringtones, pics, contacts, sms, mms, calendar and internet. if you have a bluetooth phone and dongle you dont even need the software just use the push. it doesnt have spyware its an eom motorola product. it also does not backup your settings. not even the p2ks and such will backup things like your media settings or user settings on the phone. grab a pen and some paper and get to writing.

dont pay 50 bucks for the software bundle. you only need software and I can let u know where to get it. PM me fore more info. There are updates from motorola which fixes some bugs, but there is also some bugs unfixed but you can still live with it. That program does more good than bad.

If that's all you want to do you'll be fine with MPT, you can downloaded for free on Griffzan's thread here >>>http://cellphoneforums.net/t167729.html

Thanks Tony, PM's are pointless if the answer is staring you in the face. But the software can be buggy and tends to crap out on alot of people that I've run across but as for me I've had no problems at all but I barely use it not that it matters, worked the first time and every time after.

Is it true that you need to have MPT installed in order to use most other programs such as p2k tools?

You do not need to text msg anything to your phone. You can use the cable to hook the phone into your computer, and then open the multimedia studio in the program. This will let you transfer pictures, MP3’s ect between your phone and computer.

MPT is a pain in the butt. Bluetooth dongles are simple and easy.

once you open MPT you should be able to find it on the phones' diagram that pops up on your PC.
