I get one bar of signal (Verizon) at my house, but its not enough to make a call or get messages. I have a friend who gets no signal at her house but uses an antenna extension and can make calls....
Anyone have any experience with equipment that works? (Links are appreciated) We're using Motorola phones (v710 and e815)

it worked on my old school nokia pretty well.
i've heard other folks used it and worked well with their v710, i dunno about e815 tho, hope it helps.

... thanks... but I'm really looking for something higher tech than the sticker... roof mounting isn't a problem. Hubby told me to go ahead and spend the $700 on equipment that would make the whole house/yard amplified wirelessly, but I'm looking for the $50-$100 alternative mostly so I can get text messages from my girlfriends

a signal booster shouldn't be 700 bux, they're a lot cheaper than that, get a stationary antenna here

if that doesnt suit your needs you can always set up a wap around your house, again it depends on how much data you're going to be transfering, if it's very little it's not worth the investment imo, but whatever floats your boat.

I could have used one of those years ago when I lived way out in the middle of nowhere.. Seemed like every other tuesday at 4:27 pm you might get One bar of service where i lived... now of course living in solid metro area those are worries of the past.

I'm looking at the stationary antenna... but I wonder now if it will work at all... the nearest workable signal to my house is nearly a mile away
..
Yagi antennas are not dual mode and the stationary antennas don't amplify the signal... <sigh>...
