I dropped my phone in oil (don't ask how). I need to disassemble my phone and clean it, however I cannot get it apart.

It is a motorola from cingular. It looks like the V550 but is all silver. I have removed the four screws from the back but cannot get any further. Does anybody know what model I have and how I can take it apart. Thank you guys for your help.

Get some alcohol and make sure everything is cleaned out completely and let it dry, also make sure you didn't miss any connections to the inner display.

DO NOT USE alcohol it will erode your phone, try looking for a product called genosolve, this is what ciruit board assemblers use to clean glue resin, etc. you can soak your phone in this for days and when you take it out will dry almost immediatly. (I know from previous use)

Alcohol WILL NOT erode the phone if you used it sparingly...

Griffzan, the phone is fixed and the phone is working fine...

Ohh sorry, I just know that alcohol will eat the plastic coating off the circiut board and the cover of the screen. It will end up looking like someone took sandpaper to it if used to much.

yes, good point, never used alcohol on your screen, i was refering to the ribbon connector that goes to front faceplate that feeds power to light up the screen.
in this case is just to get some of the oil of the circuits to get them working, of course genosolve is more appropriate if you want to leave your circuits like new again..
