As embarassing as it is, I walked into the water with my Motorola V710 still in my bathing suit pocket and didn't realize it for about 5 minutes. I let it just sit and dry. It was on when it happened. I seriously need some help on finding out how to fix it. It costs $400 and I really don't want to buy another one. Can someone please help me? Anything would be great. Thanks.

Usually the best thing to do after a phone comes in contact with water is to remove the battery as quickly as possible to kill the power going to the phone. Then try to take it apart as much as you can and let it sit in the hot sun to dry out completely for as long as a few days. Your cars dashboard works well for this if you leave your windows up on a sunny day. If that fails I have heard of a few cases where only the battery got killed and just replacing the battery fixed the phone. Be aware though, even if you phone will turn on there is usually something permanently damaged with it, for example my friend dropped his phone into a glass on orange juice, it still works for the most part but the camera is now dead. Another one of my friends dropped his in a toilet, didn’t let it dry out or anything and it still works just fine.

thanks alot. It turned off when it happened, but I didn't take the battery out. It seems dry but there is an obvious salt deposit in the screen. I got the back case off but once I took the screws out I couldn't get any further.

Can anyone give me a tutorial on how to take apart a motorola V710? or ne other healing remedies for a salty phone?
