Cingular bills all aim usage as sms. Even though the phone gives you a used data message when you log off, that is also billed as sms.

if you have unlimited texting, you still have to pay for using AIM correct?

so bytes and kb mean nothing to you? And you can leave your AIM on for awhile with no problems? I am planning on upgrading to unlimited texting since i do use it alot and 200 just wont cut it....

yes. I have yet to see any data charges associated with aim. IF you read the fine print, it says even the buddy list updates are billed as sms.

Okay so i got my bill today, and lets just say i got slammed alittle. its over $250...
I am never using the internet again on my phone, they charge you that .01 for 1 kb and that killed me. I didnt really see anything for AIM chargers but i might have to wait until next months bill because i just started using it.
Positive Note: didnt go over text messaging.
Negative: Got crushed with Internet Access and web browsering...HTC MDA

Wow that sucks, this is the reason I dont even mess with AIM, unless you have a phone with a keypad it is pretty much the same as texting anyway.
