    start here

pictures can be stored on the transflash from either the camera or your computer and those can be accessed for wallpaper and forwarding purposes... MP3's can be stored on the transflash but not accessed to be ringtones.

If you read the linked post it will tell you the workaround that will allow an MP3 excerpt as your ringtone

so simply makin an mp3 under 200 kpbs and transfering it to ur transflash wont do the trick? I have to actually go throught the process of sending a message to a fake number?

don't forget to give it a false .mid extension on the way there .... and to answer your question - see if you can get your phone to "look at" the transflash card for ringtones.... I can't.

stuff is too confusing for me...I remember when I was able to just hook up a usb chord and have a new ringtone in seconds....ok i grasp what ur saying but not totally....i think i know what these transflash cards are....im guessing they are like mini sd cards....now do these all come with usb adapters toplug into the computer? and if i purchase one, I also have to crop down an mp3, give it false extension, and send it to an invalid number?....am i correct on this? just wondering

    you are correct in everything....

~It is a mini SD card and comes with an adaptor that allows you to plug it into an SD card slot, if you don't have an SD card slot built in you can get a card reader for $20ish at Walmart

~Yes, to use an MP3 as a ringer (something Verizon frowns upon!) you do have to crop an MP3 (you can also save it to a lower quality to conserve Mb), give it a false extension, and send it to a fase number. You can guess that Verizon wants to say to the RIAA folks "Hey, we did what we could to NOT promote music pirating."

The transflash goes into that long-narrow slot on the top of the phone near the antenna. It is useful for saving LOTS of pictures, longer videos, voice memos, and MP3's for your listening pleasure...
