Can someone please tell me how I can extend the ringing before the call goes to my voicemail? It seems that I don't have enough time to answer incoming calls before it gets forwarded to my voicemail. I have a V220 btw. THANKS

I don't think there is a way to lengthen the amount of rings before voicemail. If there is, it will require you to actually go in and modify the programming.

sometimes to me it seems like some motos ring for hours and other rings for just 5 seconds.I never pick up my phone on time, its a givin that if you call and get voivmail that I'll return your call as soon as you hang up. What decides how long a phone rings before voimail pick up? I know if you can hit ignore to send it to voimail faster, you should be able to extended it or even turn voicemail answering off so it would ring all day? those would be nice features.

I have a v400 and had to call up Cingular to ask them about this problem. They were able to change it for me on their end. There is no option on the phone itself to change the length of the ring, so Cingular has to do it from wherever they are. Mine rings for 20 or 25 seconds now before it goes to voicemail. They will set it to however many rings you want. Give 'em a call.

Are we right to assume that this applies to all Cingular phones, regardless of make and model?

For instance, they'll change the ring # on LG.

    Cool info!

I'm not sure if it applies to all phones. The people at Cingular told me that there were several options that were not available to me on my phone but they could change from where they are located. Not sure what the other options were, but of course one was the number of rings. I'd say if you're trying to change something but can't find an option for it on the phone, call up Cingular and see what they can do for you. Never hurts to ask.
