Yeah, well I have a Motorolla V220, and something went wrong. I haven't done anything to it and one day.. I open my phone and the screen is black. (The phone was turned on. So don't think I'm a dumb ass.) Well, I was wondering if any of you knew what was wrong or anyway I could try and fix it. I can still make phone calls, but some #'s I can't find because of this. I can't remember ALL of the members in my directory. This may make me lose a lot of friends, because I mostly have to call them.

If the phone is insured, you might have to pay a small deductible to have it replaced. I think mine was like $35 or so when I had to replace my phone...

Well if it was technical and not physical damage you should have a one year warranty that should be able to replace it. Have you had it more than a year?

From what I know Motorola only gives a one limited warranty not a two. So if thats the case then you would need phone insurance to replace the handset. If you don't have phone insurance included in your plan and you can't find anyone to fix your cell phone, then you'll need to pay full price for a new one. You could probably find a replacement one for cheap at a local retailer or something.

Try a "2nd lvl reset". It may fix the display only temporarily, but at least you will be able to retrieve your numbers.

2nd lvl reset...With the phone powered ON, remove the battery. Leave out battery for about 30 seconds and then put the phone back together, power on the phone and cross you fingers.

When ever the phone has a sudden loss of power, like removing the battery with it turned on, it forces a software reset in the phone. Only problem is... that you could possibly lose settings or data that is not stored on the SIM card.
