    Hey
I found a great software for editing music to make ringtones. The program is call Blaze Media Pro. This is only a trial but it lets u use the whole program for 15 days. It works great for me when i am making ringtones. A tip is when you edit ur ringtone it will become a WAV file. Just use the same program and it will let u convert the WAV files into MP3s which takes more space on the memory, but has an extremely better listening quality on the phone.

Mp3's should be a smaller file size than wav... What bitrate are you converting them to? Realistically, they only need to be 64 or 96 kbps to be used as ringtones...

Yea, mp3's should be smaller than wav's. I use an editing program called audacity. Then I use a couple converters to get them how I want.

Audacity is a great ringtone maker. I use it all the time and have been for quite awhile. I use it to do everything from, cutting out the songclip I want, to dropping the kb rating down to 64 bits, to reconverting the song once I have done everything I want to it.

Best thing about Audacity is it's free and once learn the few things required, can take you about minute or two to make your ringtone.

soundforge is nice. I think for a ringtone, its a bit of overkill though. If you can get it, its a good bet though.

Goldwave is another one. Again, probably overkill for making ring tones but...

I second Audiocity. I've used it to create all my ringtones. I use bit rate of 48 kbps and the rings sound great.
