Now that you have the data cable, do you also have a program on your computer, that will allow you to transfer ringtones and graphics to the phone?
Something like Moto Phone Tools?

Data cable help!
I think what he is getting at if you don't have the software you want have the proper driver for the phone to be recongnized by your PC properly. (even if you had the driver and cable it won't do any good w/out the software) Cell phones are not plug-n-play devices. You will need to "buy/borrow" a buddies "mobile Phone Tools" by Motorola/BVRP or a comparible version is Data Pilot by Systeen wich is half the price but isn't quite as detailed or user friendly as Motorola's. Some of these even have free trial downloads, with limited use of certain tools. In other words the feature that you are really wanting will be the one that requires money and activation (mp3/ringtone creation and picture studio's) usally they will let you back up your address book or some simple task to tease you with.
